FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Sparklight®, a leading broadband communications provider and part of the Cable One family of brands, today announced plans to build a fiber-optic network that will provide high-speed internet service to Victoria, Texas residents and businesses.
Engineering and pre-construction activities are already underway on the company’s state-of-the-art, all-fiber network that will deliver symmetrical speeds up to 1 Gig for residential customers and up to 5 Gigs for business customers.
“Our solid and reliable broadband infrastructure will help Victoria residents stay connected for all of their online needs, whether it be for telemedicine, online education, working from home, shopping or entertainment,” said Chris Boone, Sparklight Senior Vice President of Business Services and Emerging Markets. “Our multi-million-dollar investment in this network will support the bandwidth needs of the Victoria community, now and in the future.”
“Reliable internet service has become a part of our critical infrastructure, and our community has a strong desire to see improvement in this area,” said Victoria Mayor-elect Jeff Bauknight. “We are glad to have the opportunity to work with Sparklight in meeting this need for our residents.”
In October 2020, Sparklight Business launched its Piranha Fiber® Ferociously Fast Internet® services in Victoria. Today, more than 2,000 businesses in Victoria have access to the company’s fiber internet and voice services.
Construction on the Sparklight network is expected to be completed in summer 2023.
