Cable ONE Business Launches Low-Bandwidth Ethernet Service over Coax

Phoenix, AZ

Small- and medium-sized businesses in Cable ONE Business’s serviceable markets now have access to an affordable, low-bandwidth Ethernet service with the recent launch of the company’s new service, EZ Ethernet.

EZ Ethernet allows businesses to quickly connect multiple sites with a standard cable modem to instantly increase network bandwidth and reliability, while lowering monthly and annual costs. Symmetrical bandwidth options include 3, 5 and 10 Mbps.

“In any multi-site operation, connectivity between locations is always a top-of-mind concern,” said Chris Boone, Vice President of Business Services for Cable ONE. “Even something as simple as sharing a folder or file becomes a challenge if the operation’s bandwidth hasn’t kept pace with its needs. As businesses migrate away from the traditional T1 infrastructure, we believe EZ Ethernet is a great alternative that provides superior bandwidth and flexibility with quick installation timelines.”

EZ Ethernet service uses a widely-available and well-understood Ethernet interface, which is compatible with virtually all networking equipment and hosts. And because the service is delivered over Cable ONE Business’s expansive coax network, EZ Ethernet is already available to more than 80 percent of all businesses in the company’s serviceable markets.

“Because Ethernet technology is so widely used and understood, EZ Ethernet will be relatively simple for customers to integrate into their existing network infrastructure,” Boone said. “This enables a fast, easy installation without the typical construction costs and lengthy timelines associated with fiber-based Ethernet solutions.”

EZ Ethernet allows customers to choose different bandwidths for different locations. The service also allows customers to easily add new locations and scale bandwidth by location up to 10 Mbps as their needs change.
