Cable ONE, Small Business Owner Support Local Non-Profit

Pascagoula, MS

Small business owners recently had the opportunity to give back to the charity of their choice, just for subscribing to Cable ONE’s free business blog, TheWire. All new subscribers were automatically entered into a drawing to win one of three prizes - a Platinum Prize of $5,000, a Gold Prize of $2,500, or a Silver Prize of $1,000.

Ann Waller, owner of Ann Waller Tax Services in Moss Point, was the winner of the Gold Prize and chose to donate to Our Daily Bread, a local non-profit whose mission is to feed the hungry.

“The opportunity to get ideas for better business management through Cable ONE’s business blog, coupled with being able to give back to my favorite charity was a win-win,” Waller said.

As treasurer of Our Daily Bread, Waller says she knows first-hand the financial struggle this non-profit is experiencing.

“This financial assistance is a great blessing. Most of our food is donated or obtained through low-cost area food banks. But costs have increased so much for salaries, paper products, cleaning supplies, delivery expenses, utilities and insurance, that we have a projected budget shortfall,” Waller said. “I really appreciate that Cable ONE is invested in giving back to their local communities in the form of donations to worthy organizations like Our Daily Bread.”

Cable ONE General Manager Missy Ryan said the company’s goal is to working hand-in-hand with local business owners to assess their communications needs and recommend the best solutions for their businesses.

“We’re thrilled that we can help our customers grow their business, while at the same time partnering with them to give back to our local community,” Ryan said.
