Cable ONE has partnered with the Central Yavapai Metropolitan Planning Organization (CYMPO), along with eight law enforcement agencies (Yavapai County Sheriff's Office, Prescott Police, Prescott Valley Police, Chino Valley Police, Yavapai College Campus Police, Cottonwood Police, Camp Verde Marshall's Office, the Department of Public Safety), and the Arizona Department of Transportation for the first "Don't Drive Distracted" campaign.
The goal of the public service campaign is to reduce fatalities and serious liabilities on all public roads in Yavapai County that happen as a result of distracted driving. The campaign will begin with distracted driving and will later focus on impaired driving, speeding, and aggressive driving.
Cable ONE Account Executive Rebecca Banks worked with CYMPO for the past six months creating a plan for an aggressive public service campaign, and producing a series of television and online public service announcements on the dangers of distracted driving.
"We're honored to partner with CYMPO on this campaign," Banks said. "Distracted driving is a growing, yet preventable problem and we hope this campaign can assist in educating residents and saving lives."
Cable ONE was recently awarded a plaque by the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors for their role in the Distracted Driving campaign.
